so becca and i went to Long Island this weekend for a family event which took place on a boat that went around Manhattan, very fun and beautiful.

best hero in the world = lightly breaded eggplant with lettuce, tomato, red onion, roasted pepper and fresh mozzarella. omFg. *orgasmx12*

On the drive home today... there was a Hacidic Jew man in a van next to us. I watched him pick his nose at the red light, and then... to my astonishment... what he did next was even worse than picking his nose. He took his glasses off of his head.... took the end of the glasses and stuck it in his EAR to clean it out. pulled it out, used the same one for the OTHER ear.. then proceeded to stare at it for a couple minutes, then put his glasses back on. UGH. you disgusto fucko!!!!!!!

the true story of emily rose. [11 Sep 2005|10:19pm]

above is the link for the true story about the Exorcism of Emily Rose. Which is not her real name. I thought it was interesting that one of the demons possessing her was Hitler.

I saw the movie tonight and it was pretty interested. Not that scary, but mostly thought provoking.

oh and today was becca + i's 6 months.. feels a lot longer. =)

rilo kiley/coldplay in new york. [08 Sep 2005|06:40pm]
[ mood | exhausted ]

Rilo Kiley was really good! the crowd seemed to really enjoy them. For some reason I never purchased any Rilo Kiley cds! but after last night I will.

as for Coldplay...

fucking amazing.

My FAVORITE part of the night would have to be..

there is a huge screen behind them playing, and during one song the lyrics have something to do with the word "light" so the backround kept repeating "get your camera out. get ready. get ready. get ready. are you ready? are you ready to take a photo? 5. 4. 3. 2. 1. NOW"

and the part of the song they sang the word "light" and then all the lights went off at Madison Square Garden and the only thing that lit up the whole entire place was everyones flashes from their camera going off. IT WAS INSANE. it gave me chills.

during "yellow" huge yellow beach balls fell from the ceiling with sparkly stuff in it. it was another good moment.

le sigh. <3

oh btw. the restraunt Becca works at, guess who has a reservation coming up that Becca will probably meet. here's a hint.

yes! the girl in the well from Silence of the Lambs.

Please foster the pets. [06 Sep 2005|07:14pm]
Please repost this where you can. I think I am going to try to get a couple cats.

Animals can be brought to you - please read!
« Thread Started on Yesterday at 8:14pm »

Over 200 dogs and over 150 cats so far. They have been put in one TEMPORARY place for now. I am told every one of them has had vaccinations and are in fine health, other than some scratched up some, lost, sad, confused and hungry. There are people there who are
ready and waiting to drive these dogs and cats to ANYWHERE they need to go, I repeat, ANYWHERE, they will transport them ANYWHERE.

They said they can hold on to them for a bit longer, not sure how much longer and said MANY of them will have to be EUTHANIZED if they are not taken somewhere soon.

CONTACT THIS PERSON DIRECTLY, it does not matter what time, middle of the nite, it does not matter, please help these poor precious animals.

They are also asking for ANY kind of donations for the animals, money, dog cat food, etc.

haha. a bit of sense. [04 Sep 2005|12:40am]
[ mood | amused ]

this is an open letter from Michael Moore to George Bush[wacker]. i find it amusing and it made me smile numerous times, as it will you.

Friday, September 2nd, 2005

Dear Mr. Bush:

Any idea where all our helicopters are? It's Day 5 of Hurricane Katrina and thousands remain stranded in New Orleans and need to be airlifted. Where on earth could you have misplaced all our military choppers? Do you need help finding them? I once lost my car in a Sears parking lot. Man, was that a drag.

Also, any idea where all our national guard soldiers are? We could really use them right now for the type of thing they signed up to do like helping with national disasters. How come they weren't there to begin with?

Last Thursday I was in south Florida and sat outside while the eye of Hurricane Katrina passed over my head. It was only a Category 1 then but it was pretty nasty. Eleven people died and, as of today, there were still homes without power. That night the weatherman said this storm was on its way to New Orleans. That was Thursday! Did anybody tell you? I know you didn't want to interrupt your vacation and I know how you don't like to get bad news. Plus, you had fundraisers to go to and mothers of dead soldiers to ignore and smear. You sure showed her!

I especially like how, the day after the hurricane, instead of flying to Louisiana, you flew to San Diego to party with your business peeps. Don't let people criticize you for this -- after all, the hurricane was over and what the heck could you do, put your finger in the dike?

And don't listen to those who, in the coming days, will reveal how you specifically reduced the Army Corps of Engineers' budget for New Orleans this summer for the third year in a row. You just tell them that even if you hadn't cut the money to fix those levees, there weren't going to be any Army engineers to fix them anyway because you had a much more important construction job for them -- BUILDING DEMOCRACY IN IRAQ!

On Day 3, when you finally left your vacation home, I have to say I was moved by how you had your Air Force One pilot descend from the clouds as you flew over New Orleans so you could catch a quick look of the disaster. Hey, I know you couldn't stop and grab a bullhorn and stand on some rubble and act like a commander in chief. Been there done that.

There will be those who will try to politicize this tragedy and try to use it against you. Just have your people keep pointing that out. Respond to nothing. Even those pesky scientists who predicted this would happen because the water in the Gulf of Mexico is getting hotter and hotter making a storm like this inevitable. Ignore them and all their global warming Chicken Littles. There is nothing unusual about a hurricane that was so wide it would be like having one F-4 tornado that stretched from New York to Cleveland.

No, Mr. Bush, you just stay the course. It's not your fault that 30 percent of New Orleans lives in poverty or that tens of thousands had no transportation to get out of town. C'mon, they're black! I mean, it's not like this happened to Kennebunkport. Can you imagine leaving white people on their roofs for five days? Don't make me laugh! Race has nothing -- NOTHING -- to do with this!

You hang in there, Mr. Bush. Just try to find a few of our Army helicopters and send them there. Pretend the people of New Orleans and the Gulf Coast are near Tikrit.

Michael Moore

P.S. That annoying mother, Cindy Sheehan, is no longer at your ranch. She and dozens of other relatives of the Iraqi War dead are now driving across the country, stopping in many cities along the way. Maybe you can catch up with them before they get to DC on September 21st.

email i recieved from my good friend. [03 Sep 2005|06:42pm]
[ mood | indescribable ]

I emailed my friend Jessica who lives in MS with the link of the Mayor venting about Bush. her reply.
i told her how i was pissed at bush and all of that, but she really made me understand some things. Worry about politics later, help people NOW.

I have heard this and I understand what he is saying, but I can guarantee you that most of the people don't give a shit who's fault it is. They just want help, period. My friends Jessica, Justin, Adam, Kristen, Kyle, "Moose", Danielle, Anthony, Jarmon, Ron, Rebecca, Nate, Shorkley, Richard, Tim, and Kathy... none of them give a shit.. they just don't have houses and a few them don't know if they have families. My friends Ron, Erin, and Erin who are all from New Orleans they don't care either (and no they aren't all Bush supporters..trust me).

It really irritates me that you send me an email trying to prove to me how enraged everyone down here is at Bush and trying to show me how bad the situation is. HELLO MELISSA!! I LIVE HERE!!!! I am the one that has no gas to drive my car.. I am the one that can't use my cell phone to call out because all of the towers are down. I am the one that have friends staying at my apartment because they go to school on the coast and have no school to go. I am the one that didn't get a call from home until 2 days ago because the power was still out. For me, and most of the people that have been affected by this.. this isn't a political thing or a race thing. This is a desperation thing. This is a situation where rather than the people who just sit on their couch and get news blips complain about the different administrations lack of interest or concern... rather than people whining and bitching about the govt.. those people should just come down here and experience it and when someone whines and bitches about the government then they will have too many other things on their mind to think about the lack of the governments concern. The Mayor is bitching about the government because he IS the government. So, I don't blame his frustration in that regard.

Fuck the government... How about the citizens of the United States help too. I am sorry I am venting all of this at you because I know you do care about the situation here, but it just kind of bugged me that the first thing you asked me is if i was alright.. then the second comment you made was about the President. People down here are DEAD!!! People down here don't have houses, cars, money, gas, power.. and you are worried about the President. What about the people!?!! I guess that is my point. So many people are so concerned with what the government ISNT doing that they are forgetting about just how bad it is down here. And as far as people not wanting that interview with the mayor to get out... well it is a little late because it has been all over the news stations around here. He is desperate.

My heart breaks for him. My heart breaks for the people in his city. The heart breaks for the people in my State. My heart is just simply broken to think that these are MY PEOPLE down here walking around the streets without homes. These aren't people in Haiti or Thailand or even in New York (when you live in the South sometimes LA and NYC seem like ages away). These are people that Ive grown up around. I have so many family members in Louisiana and the new orleans area. That is where my mom is from.. my granny is from. Many many many family members are still there and I know that area like the back of my hand. The MS Gulf coast is a place where I used to go every summer. I would say 3/4s of my friends here at school are from there. These are my people that have been fucked by this storm. I worry more about them and how I can help them than the government because regardless of the who President is... Bush, Clinton, Carter, Regan.. Mississippi and Louisana haven't exactly been main points of interest in their agendas. So I just don't really give a fuck about what hte government is doing at this point because it isn't like any of them .. Republican or Democrat have given a flying fuck about little ole Mississippi and Louisana before.

Anyway, sorry for the super long vent... I just get tired of people trying to make this political rather than just getting off their asses and helping. I love you though. Lots. And I know youre doing your part.
Love, Jess"

i guess i am frustrated because i can't be there to help so I am angry at the president because he has the power to help but isn't doing shit.

a new month. a new job. [01 Sep 2005|08:48pm]
man i am exhausted. this is the first time i've had a full day of work since May.
pretty decent job though. i get a little bit stuttery when answering the phones though. i am normally such a good phone person, but that's with people i know.

but its a super laid back place and i really just need to relax with the social disorder lol.

i am SO not supervised and can listen to music and surf the web haha. and as long as i type, they will think i am working.

*going to bed before 9pm*

that deserves an award.

(Wed) Sept 7 Rothko, NYC
(Sat) Sept 10 World Cafe Live, Philly
(Mon) Sept 12 Paradise Rock Club, Boston
(Tues) Sept 13 Fashion Week, NYC
(Sat) Sept 17 World Cafe Live, Philly
(Mon) Sept 19 Paradise Rock Club, Boston
(Wed) Sept 21 Rothko, NYC
(Sat) Sept 24 World Cafe Live, Philly
(Mon) Sept 26 Paradise Rock Club, Boston
(Wed) Sept 28 Rothko, NYC

in other excellent news...

i have gotten a job! and i start tomorrow.

administrative assistant for a pharmaceutical recruiting company.
sounds fancy.

it's a really laid back place. i can wear whatever i want, take off whenever i need to, come in late, leave early. they dont take out pay for lunch.

as far as pay goes, im excited and nervous at the same time. they DONT take out taxes. so i will be getting approx 1800 a month, no taxes. i guess for taxes i have to file as an independant contractor. and i think i am just going to do small side extra jobs and projects for extra money so at the end of the year i can use that to pay my taxes instead of taking a certain amount out of my paychecks.

plus my taxes are going to be a bit crazy since i moved in the middle of the year.

but i'm happy. let's see how this goes.

"According to a newspaper in Reunion, a French island located in the Indian Ocean, a six-month-old puppy was found last month with hooks implanted in its snout and one of its legs. The French Society for the Protection of Animals (SPA) told the paper that the dog was the victim of fishermen who attract sharks by throwing puppies or kittens into the water, tied to fishing lines, and wait for the predators to swallow the thrashing animals. "We don't see that every day, but it's not the first time, either," said the vice-president of the SPA. "We've already seen cats six or seven months old with hooks in them."

i don't mean to make my livejournal all animal rights lately. i'm just beginning to get into it.

cleaned the loft. did all the laundry. god damn that felt good. haha.
